Position Summary The Operations & Facilities Management Department (OFMD) at WashU Medicine provides essential services that sustain the medical campus’ mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education. OFMD manages the maintenance and operation of more than 65 buildings, encompassing over 14.8 million gross square feet, including the 11-story, 609,000-square-foot Neuroscience Research Building (NRB), home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of neuroscientists. For additional information, view a quick message from some of our employees: The Response Officer I is a personable and service-oriented professional who plays a crucial role in campus safety in an unarmed capacity. They work in a collaborative, team-based environment and assist Response Officers II and Leads in both emergency and non-emergency situations, providing support to faculty, staff, patients, and visitors with confidence and empathy. Responsibilities include patrolling the campus, offering support to the campus community, and enforcing University policies and criminal laws. Assignments may involve vehicle or foot patrol as part of a coordinated team effort. All officers should be prepared to administer general first aid as part of their role.
