Job Description

SUMMARY:
Parts Delivery Driver makes deliveries on a daily basis and processes paperwork necessary for recording deliveries, pick-ups, and returns.  The delivery of parts is time-sensitive and the Parts Delivery Driver is crucial to the operation of the Parts department, whether they are picking up parts for shop jobs or delivering parts to customers.

• Works closely with the Parts and Service department to ensure technicians and customers have the required parts
• Checks the Parts Delivery bin throughout the day and loads the delivery truck in the order parts are to be delivered
• Ensures each part to be delivered has a corresponding invoice
• Delivers parts to the shop and customers on a daily basis
• Picks-up and returns cores and warranty parts, along with the necessary paperwork
• Unload all cores and put them in the core bins
• Processes paperwork necessary for recording deliveries/pick-ups
• Safeguards parts during transit and ensures zero damage
• Maintains a friendly and courteous demeanor towards customers and co-workers
• Available to respond to emergency pick-up and delivery after hours including nights, weekends and holidays

knowledge, skills, and abilities:

knowledge:

• Requires a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Need to pass a DOT physical to obtain a DOT health card to operate a commercial vehicle

skills:

• Written and verbal communication skills
• Reads and understands reference books and complicated procedures and manuals
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent customer service skills

abilities :

• Apply good judgment in recognizing scope of authority
• Ability to prioritize multiple part pick-ups and deliveries
• Punctual and makes no delays in deliveries
• Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Prepared to work in any traffic, weather, and timing according to the Company’s business needs
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more as needed
